Domingo, a dog with lymphoma.

Domingo, a 7-year old dog, was diagnosed with multicentric lymphoma. He was treated at our clinic for 19 weeks using the Wisconsin-Madison chemotherapy regimen.

During the treatment, Domingo came in once a week for a blood test and to receive an injection.  Since the first week of the treatment, he has been in complete remission (all signs of the tumour have disappeared). After the treatment had been completed, Domingo came for a check-up every three months.

He did not suffer any serious side effects during the chemotherapy, and his quality of life was similar to that before the diagnosis. After 20 months, Domingo had a recurrence of the cancer. He then started the treatment again with the same chemotherapy regimen, and went into complete remission.

Like Domingo, many dogs with lymphoma respond very well to chemotherapy, and their quality of life is not affected by it. They often require no further treatment after the initial 19-week regimen has finished.

If you want your pet to travel with you, make sure you’ve completed all the paperwork and all vaccinations are up-to-date.
